Introducing Acacia Rural, a division of Acacia Insurance

Sydney, Australia: 2023 has brought an exciting opportunity for Acacia Insurance to expand its footprint through the purchase of the Active Community Insurance Farm portfolio – now known as Acacia Rural.

Acacia Rural will be a flagship division of Acacia Insurance & Risk Services Pty Ltd, part of the Insurance Advisernet group. This strategic move is designed to be a win-win for our farm, agriculture and regional clients, their local communities and the business as a whole.

Former co-owner of Active Community Insurance (ACI) Farm, Julie Hooper will join the Acacia Rural team as a consultant to ensure continuity of service and to provide specialist advice, bringing a wealth of knowledge in the agriculture sector.

Acacia Rural has been formed specifically to offer outstanding expertise in a range of insurance areas from property, liability, crop, workers compensation and many others, enhancing our offering to our rural clients. Acacia Insurance’s Head of Commercial, Michelle Staunton, will be the lead broker for the new division. Michelle is well loved by clients for her exceptional service and vast experience in both insurance and running a business. She’s uniquely placed to offer the new Acacia Rural clients with access to her expertise, quality advice and a strong care factor.

Support for local farmers and communities continues

Acacia Rural is very excited to continue the ACI initiative to support regional communities through sponsorship of sporting clubs. We recognise the significant role sporting clubs play in helping rural communities stay strong in difficult times, along with the social aspects enjoyed by both children and parents alike. We look forward to growing this initiative into the future, having already committed additional sponsorship funds.

Julie states that it’s a continuation of our mission to help build strong communities through rural insurance options and if we can help financially support regional communities in conjunction, it is a great outcome.

Acacia Insurance Director Martin van Rhoon notes: “Acacia Insurance has become known for creating deep expertise in niche practices within our business in addition to our commercial and corporate insurance offering. We’ve had a real focus on the not-for-profit space, professional indemnity for construction and contractors, tech start-ups and now we’re making the substantial investment into the rural and agriculture industry.

“This is an industry close to the heart of our team, so we’re staying true to our roots and bringing a genuine understanding of farming and rural business, as well as all types of general insurance. And we’ll do that while taking a personal interest in each of our clients and providing unparalleled service. “

 About Acacia Insurance

Our philosophy is based on bringing years of corporate expertise to everyday SME, commercial and corporate business.

In an insurance market that is becoming increasingly commoditised, even at the corporate end, we often find that insurance programmes are not sufficiently tailored to meet the needs of organisations now and into the future. Or, they’re simply poorly constructed, exposing the client organisation to unexpected loss.

We have an outstanding team with a high degree of expertise, which collectively has over 120 years of industry experience at the pointy end of risk challenge, policy construction and placement.

Acacia Insurance is locally owned and operated, and, as a Corporate Authorised Representative of Insurance Advisernet, has access to industry leading resources, compliance and research, which is leveraged to the benefit of our clients.
